April 30th

Today the Glee Club enjoyed divided efforts. Either a free day in Vico Equense, or a visit to Capri; the majority of us decided to go on the visit to Capri. Getting to Capri was no easy endeavor, and involved a public access tram, hiking, and a 15-minute boat ride boat ride to and from Capri each way. Once we had arrived in Capri, the group branched off into numerous groups. Some decided to visit the local shops, restaurants, and bakeries. Others decided to visit castles and ruins from Roman and Medieval Times. Pictures below include the group at the Capri Coast, as well as snapshots of the group that toured the Capri Villas, culminating at the ruins of Villa Jovis. Upon returning exhausted (and decently sunburned) from Capri, the group held an impromptu concert at Hotel Aequa, followed by a delicious dinner at University of Pizza in Vico Equense.

This concludes our time in Vico Equense at Hotel Aequa. Tomorrow we will be leaving bright and early for Pompeii, and afterwards to Rome. Thanks for checking in!

April 29th

Today, the Glee Club went to the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento. The roads along the Amalfi Coast were rather narrow, but thanks to the expertise of our local drivers and exceptional tour guide Elisabetta (pictured below), we were able to enjoy the ride to and time in Amalfi in safety. We traveled the Amalfi Coast and spent time in Amalfi from approximately 10a to 2p, then departed for Sorrento, where we had free time to explore from approximately 3p to 6p. After our travels for the day had concluded, we rehearsed and enjoyed an authentic Italian dinner courtesy of our hotel, Hotel Aequa.

Tomorrow we will go on a tour of Capri (which is optional - those electing not to attend have a free morning and early afternoon in Vico Equense), rehearse, and have dinner at "University of Pizza", where we will learn to make our own pizza. Thanks for checking in!

We Made It!!!

After a total of about 3 hours of delays at Dulles airport, missing our layover flight in Frankfurt, and waiting 8 hours for the next one, we finally got to board the plane that would take us to Naples!

Everyone could barely contain their excitement!

After a little under two hours, we arrived in Naples, Italy and met up with our wonderful tour guide, Elisabetta. We took a 30-40 minute bus ride to our hotel, Hotel Aequa in Vico Equense. After getting settled in, Elisabetta took some of us to a local pizzeria so we could get a little taste of Italy before passing out for the night after about 34 hours of travel and layovers.

It's Wednesday morning now, and after a delicious breakfast of breads, meats and cheese, we're off to explore the Amalfi Coast!

Aeronautical Quandary

Good morning from the Frankfurt Airport! We are happy to say we've arrived safely.
Due to a delayed departure from Dulles International Airport, we will be here in Frankfurt Airport until 9pm, the currently scheduled departure time of our changed flight. We will be flying with Lufthansa, flight number 0336. We hope to post again shortly after our arrival in Naples!
